A sunny walk around the gardens of Dartington Hall

At this time of the year, with the end of one of the most wonderful seasons - spring - it become the border plants and the hugely varied foliage of the trees that take centre stage. So, apart from the rose which I just could not resist, it is the latter that are displayed here.

Passing the nearly empty car park on the way home I spotted these two. Hmmm.

Mayday: Upper Drive at Dartington Hall

May day and a couple of meetings out of the way. Driving back, we turned into Upper Drive and I suddenly decided it would be nice to take some photographs of the verge alongside Upper Drive. At this time of the year, wild flowers are at their best and yet they are so often overlooked in a place like Dartington Hall simply because they tend to be over-shadowed by the gardens which are, of course, wonderful. Anyway, I think that's a shame so I kept asking Marcia to stop so I could take a quick shot. Here are some of them.
